Everyday Music is the site for all my projects. I am  a musician, community musician, teacher, poet and facilitator.

THE NEED

The Need is the band that performs my songs - original music home-cooked from a range of ingredients including reggae, blues, funky jazz, rock and Latin music. Joyful performances for resistance to the darkness in a time of mega-crisis.  Let’s face the music, and dance…and find the energy to stand up for global fairness & justice! 

At the heart of the group is a trio of mjmilner (guitar/vocals), Christian Isheim (bass) and Sebastian Arnold aka Mad Scientist Drummer (drums ), with regular guest musicians such as German Jazz Prize nominee Fuasi Abdul-Khaliq (saxophone), Becca Babor (vocals, percussion) and composer Tobias Thymian Thiele (keyboards). The Need performs the songs of martin john milner.

Everyday Music ist die Website für alle meine Projekte. Ich bin Musiker, Community-Musician, Lehrer, Dichter und Vermittler. Aufgewachsen bin ich im globalen Norden (Liverpool, England, und Nova Scotia, Kanada), und seit 2008 lebe ich in Potsdam, Deutschland.

 

THE NEED

The Need Eigene Musik, ‘home-cooked’ aus einer Vielfalt an Elementen wie Reggae, Blues, Funk-Jazz, Rock und Latin. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Freude am Musizieren. Wir leben in einer Zeit der Mehrfachkrise.  Die Lieder sind Lebensbejahungen, trotz aller Herausforderungen. Lasst uns die Musik genießen und tanzen!

Im Zentrum der Gruppe steht ein Trio von mjmilner(Gitarre/Gesang), Christian Isheim (Bass) und Sebastian Arnold aka Mad Scientist Drummer (Schlagzeug)), mit regelmäßigen Gastmusikern wie dem für den Deutschen Jazzpreis nominierten Fuasi Abdul-Khaliq (Saxophon), Becca Babor (Gesang, Perkussion) und Komponist Tobias Thymian Thiele (Keyboards).
